If you like corporate mergers, you'll love this CD. Here, Pavarotti, Inc., acquires rocker Bryan Adams TM, New Ager Andreas Vollenweider, Ltd., and a few others to market the usual selection of pop and light opera standards. Pavarotti is one of the great voices of our era, and opera up-and-comers Gustafson and Bocelli are no slouches either, but listening to them sing chestnuts like "Moon River" or "O Sole Mio" is a little like watching Einstein balance your checkbook. Their performances of opera are amazing as always, however; the sour notes are hit only by the reedy-voiced Adams and the saccarine Vollenweider. Delete them and you'd have a decent opera collection, which is, perhaps, what you should consider buying instead.
