Translated "Toleranz und Bildung," by Professor Clemens Menze, Philosophisches Seminar, Universität zu Köln, Germany. The essay was included in Bildung—Schule—Toleranz: Dokumente des Abschlußsymposiums des Europäischen Forschungsprojekts "Islam in Schulbüchern" (Üniversitåt zu Köln, 1993).

Produced a special edition of the American Music Center's web magazine on the topic of Music and Politics. Wrote the introductory page, "The Politics of Unquiet," and did the feature interview with singer and composer Diamanda Galás, as well as shorter interviews with a number of contemporary composers and musicians, including Kronos Quartet founder David Harrington, jazz clarinetist Don Byron, and saxophonist Archie Shepp.  Commissioned and edited the feature article, "Making Marx in the Music," by Kyle Gann.

Special Projects Editor (1999–2001)
LinguaFranca: The Review of Academic Life
Had primary responsibility for the second edition of Lingua Franca’s Real Guide to Grad School. Duties included reorganization of the structure and editorial content of the book, hiring writers and fact-checkers, conducting research and interviews with professors and graduate students in twenty-seven disciplines, and extensive editing and rewriting of first edition. Also involved in supervision of the design for print and Web editions.

Managing Editor (1999)
Manhattan Resident
Oversaw publication of Manhattan’s largest neighborhood paper, with four weekly editions and a circulation of 165,000. Duties included assigning and editing all stories for arts and entertainment section, supervision of editorial and freelance staff, enforcement of deadlines, and consultation with art department on layout.
